Product description

PROMAPAINT SC4 is an ecological, efficient water-borne coating for fire protection of steel constructions. PROMAPAINT SC4 creates a coating that swells under the influence of fire and high temperature to form an insulation layer and increasing the fire resistance of steel elements.PROMAPAINT SC4 has been tested in accordance with the European test standard EN 13381-8 and has obtained a very wide range of use - allows to achieve fire resistance classes element in steel structure up to class R120. The paint has the European Technical Assessment ETA-13/0198 and is CE marked.

Application

The PROMAPAINT SC4 paint is intended for fire protection coatings of beams and columns in steel to ensure fire resistance. Steel elements with both open and closed sections: rectangular or round can be protected. Protected elements can be used indoors and outdoors in a category C3 environmental corrosivity, tests are carried out to extend this application to category C4.

Substrate preparation

The steel surface should be cleaned to grade Sa 2.5. Surfaces should be clean, dry, degreased and cleaned of various impurities. The anti-corrosive primer must be applied no later than 6 hours after cleaning the structure. Two-component epoxy paints should be used as undercoats. The epoxy primer paint thickness should be at least 50 dry film. All primers should be applied with the manufacturer's guidelines and the recommendation of the Promat technical department.

Application

Application method: airless spray, brush or roller. Application should take place at an ambient temperature of +5 C to 35 C with a relative humidity of not more than 80%. Substrate temperature should be +5 C to 40 C. Pay attention to condensation and dew point. The temperature of the substrate and uncured material must always be at least 3 C above the dew point. The number of layers depends on the type of application and the required thickness of the coating. The thickness of the dry layer of fire protective paint should be determined in accordance with the required fire resistance class of the object, as well as the mass factor of steel elements.

Advantages

  • high performance
  • closed profiles can be protected
  • compatible with most undercoat paints used
  • not bothersome during application

Application

  • for making fire protection coatings on beams and columns in steel to ensure fire resistance
